Sep 6 FUND FIT Save Our Allies Independence Fund Memorial Hike, Charlotte

  • Charlotte, NC United States (map)

The Independence Fund will conduct an 8 mile memorial hike that will start at Huntingtowne Farms Park. A park constructed BY MARINES.

About this event

On August 26, 2021, the Nation lost 13 members of the U.S. Military who were killed in the attack on the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, as they worked to evacuate people to safety. They hailed from across the country – from California to Wyoming to Tennessee – and had an average age of just over 22. Eleven were U.S. Marines, one was a Navy Corpsman, and another was a member of the Army.

On Monday, September 6th, The Independence Fund, a National Veteran non-profit organization headquartered in Charlotte, NC, will conduct a memorial hike in remembrance of the brave Service Members that we lost on 8.26.2021.

The memorial hike will begin at Huntingtowne Farms Park, 2201 Ramblewood Ln, Charlotte, NC 28210, a park that was constructed BY MARINES during the Charlotte Marine Week in 2018. The route will consist of approximately 8 miles. Families will be able to join for the last 1.3 miles to help remember those that we lost.

A BBQ lunch and fellowship will follow at Ramblewood Park.

$50 entry fee will provide you with a limited edition Save Our Allies t-shirt, refreshments along the course, a BBQ lunch provided after the hike, and much needed support for our Veterans and Afghanistan.
