Suicide Prevention Training for Clergies Webinar is an opportunity for clergies to get training on the S.A.V.E. gateway program. This program is provided by a VA Suicide Prevention Coordinator to Veterans and to those who serve Veterans. The participants will learn about suicide myths and misinformation and risk factors for suicide. After taking the training participants will be able to:
Identify the scope of the problem of suicide among the veteran population.
Identify the importance of suicide prevention.
Discuss myths and misinformation about suicide.
Identify a veteran who may be at risk for suicide.
Discuss signs and symptoms of suicidal thinking.
Ask questions about suicide in an objective and non-threatening way.
Refer a veteran for evaluation and treatment.
