In September, Mecklenburg Count Parks and Recreation staff is preparing Freedom Park for the annual “Festival in the Park,” which will run September 20-22.
Through our partnership, Veterans Bridge Home is looking for lots of volunteers or 1-2 large groups of energetic Volunteers to help out with sprucing up the Park for this HUGE event!

Number of Volunteers: About 35+ adults
Brief Description of Volunteer Job: Volunteers will help staff with landscaping and maintenance tasks, which may include: spreading mulch, clearing brush and limbs, general clean-up as needed – preparation for Festival in the Park!
Tools or special clothing volunteers are requested to bring:
Work gloves – leather or protective palm recommended
Wear long pants and long sleeves; wear old clothing
Wear sturdy, closed toe shoes for safety!
Bring a refillable water bottle, sunscreen and a hat
Parking/Meeting location: After entering the Park from East Blvd, continue straight to the Stop sign; then turn left and go all the way into the last lot and park near the playground/train/bridge. Look for Park & Recreation vehicles and staff!
